Moss was born on the 13th of February in 1977. He is an American football
player. He was a player in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 years with
the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans,
and the San Francisco 49ers. Together with Jerry Rice, he is generally regarded
as the most outstanding wide receiver to ever play. Moss holds the NFL
single-year touchdown reception record (23 in 2007) as well as the rookie NFL
single season touchdown reception mark (17 in 1998). He also ranks 2nd in the
NFL all-time regular season touchdown list with 156. Moss was well known for
his prowess in securing contested catches and the word "mossed" has
entered football vernacular. Following his time in football and broadcasting,
he began working as a studio announcer at ESPN for their Sunday NFL Countdown
program and Monday Night Countdown. Moss was born in Rand, West Virginia. He
attended DuPont High School, one of two schools that later consolidated into
Riverside High School, where he excelled in football, basketball baseball,
track and field. Randy was also part of the school's debate team. Moss was a
DuPont Panthers' football player who led them to two consecutive state
championships, in 1992 and 1993. His star position was wide receiver. But Moss
also played free safety as well as punted kickoffs and was the team's punter as
well as kicker. He was awarded the Kennedy Award for West Virginia Football
Player's of the Year in the year 1994. Parade magazine named him to their
All-American high school football teams in 1995. In 2009 they named him as one
of the top 50 high-school footballers of all time.
