Courtney Thorne-Smith (born on November 8, 1967) is an American actor from America. She is best known for her roles in Melrose Place as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim and her regular role on Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne Smith was born in Menlo Park in the south of San Francisco. Her father, Walter Smith, was an analyst in the field of computer markets and her mother, Lora Thorne, was a Therapist. Courtney was seven when her parents divorced. Courtney lived with both parents in different periods. Jennifer is her older sister, is an advertising executive. She attended Menlo Atherton High School located in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. While in high school, she participated in the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne-Smith's first film appearance in the 1986 movie drama Lucas, alongside Winona Ryder, Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. In the mid-80s, she was also in a number of films which included Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (Nerds in Paradise) (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out(90). In 1998, she appeared as a star in the box-office flop Chairman Of The Board with Carrot Top. In 2009 she appeared in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith had a relationship with Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen boyfriend from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she got married to Andrew Conrad, a geneticist. The couple split in January 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group the company that markets) and author of What I Know was her wedding date. On the 11th of January 2008, at age 40, she gave birth to her son, Jacob Emerson Fishman.
