Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy, born 10 January 1986, is an English model of lingerie and catwalk model. She was second in the final of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2 in 2006) and also won series 11 in Strictly Come Dancing (2013). In 2015, she has been Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy was born on July 7th, 1965 in Liverpool. Clancy is the second of four kids of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was raised in Woolton in a suburb near Liverpool. She attended St Mary's Catholic Primary School as well as St Julie's Catholic High. Clancy was a part of the girl group Genie Queen. They were managed by Andy McCluskey at Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. In the summer of 2006, the third cycle of the Living TV show Britain's Next Top Model included Clancy as one of the 13 finalists in the competition, competing over 10 weeks for a modelling contract. Clancy made it to the final runway show alongside fellow contestant Lianna Fowler, and was the runnerup. Clancy became a model after appearing on Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy was the model for the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike on the May 2007 cover of Arena magazine. Clancy was chosen for Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue. Clancy was featured because of her sporting relationship to Peter Crouch. Clancy was photographed by the magazine wearing only body paint to appear as if she were wearing an England shirt. Yu Tsai took the photos. Clancy was wearing an England shirt in Umbro's campaign in 2010 and also other wives and girlfriends of players from winning nations. Clancy was a model in the Giles Deacon Ready-To Wear collection Giles Spring 2011 collection.In March 2011 Clancy appeared on the Elite Model Management: New York division website. In July 2013, she took part of London designer Hasan Hejazi's campaign. It included a fashion editorial from Absynth Photographic as well as an upcoming fashion film by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also featured on the August 2011 UK Esquire cover. Photographer Solve Sundsbo took Clancy's photo. Clancy was also featured in the December 2013 issue of LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar with Suki Wasserhouse and Cara Delevingne. In July 2014, Clancy appeared on the cover of British Marie Claire and in March 2015, British Elle. Abbey Clancy, along with her daughter Sophia Crouch, collaborated in October 2019 with Lipsy the London-based fashion company to introduce their AW'19 collection. In January 2020, the AW'19 collection was officially launched in the UAE.
